Oh Boy...Scouts That Is

I was excited to finally be released from primary after being a teacher for about four years. Little did I know there was another calling coming my way - well our way. Charlie and I are now the Cub Scout leaders. Oh boy. I'm feeling thrown into the deep end and do not quite know what to expect! It will definitely be a change teaching kids during the week instead of on Sunday. I anticipate it will be a little easier! Just due to the fact that we don't have to keep them sitting still and quiet the whole time! Charlie has been told this is just the beginning of his scouts leader career! Ha ha! Lucky Charlie!

Bagels Bananas and Chocolate Milk

This morning I let Matthew have a piece of my plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese when his banana was just not enough. The cream cheese did NOT go over well at all, the piece was immediately spit out followed by a look of disgust and irritation. How dare I give him something so unappetizing! I decided to give him bagel without cream cheese which went over much better. After a few tiny bites, he wanted to take his own bite instead of me pulling little pieces off for him. Naturally he took a huge bite! He proceeded to chew this over sized bite - a few minutes later, he was throwing everything and screeching and finally buried his face in my chest and started to cry. Come to find out, he had bagel stuck to the roof of his mouth! I could not help just laughing! Which upset him even more! I was finally able to get him to let me stick my finger in his mouth to dislodge the offending piece of bagel. Because he was still upset, I let him take a sip of my chocolate milk - and now there is no going back!! He loved it, of course!

I realize that most of my posts (or all, I'm not sure...) have pictures. I've heard no complaint so far, so I'm going to assume that all is well in the blogging world concerning my pictures!! If anyone has pictures of family and/or friends that should be a part of this blog, send them to me!!! hannahmickelsen@gmail.com or brightgurl2@msn.com
Be sure to label the pictures so I know for sure who is in each picture!

Summit as an "innocent" puppy

Yes, innocent - all that cardboard around her - yeah, she did that...Austin is looking on proudly - I'm sure thinking, "I have taught you well, young one..."

Announcements

This is the cute Anne Geddes photo we used to announce to the family that we were having another baby - she is due November 29th - hooray for holiday babies!! Matthew was born near July 4th and Brooklyn will be a Thanksgiving baby!

Ahh, Nap Time...

Matthew has a hard time sleeping away from home, so Daddy sacrificed his time to take a nap with him!

Charlie and Matthew

Here are my boys!

HOLY COW!!! LOOK HOW BIG THAT BUG IS!!!

This is the grasshopper that was in our back yard yesterday - I saw it and didn't know it was a grasshopper, so naturally I freaked out! It had to be at least two inches long! That is huge as far as bugs go!

The Cousins Playing

We recently took a trip to Rexburg for Drake's farewell - and stayed with Bryce, Natalie and Colton - Colton is about three months younger than Matthew, but they still had so much fun playing and stealing toys from each other! I still find it funny that toddlers would rather play with real things like pots and spoons than all those expensive toys we think they want! (Matthew is on the left and Colton is on the right)

Charlie with Austin

Here is the beginning - Charlie and I started with Austin - our Shepherd-Mix poochie. Look closely...you'll see the mischief in her eyes even as a puppy!

Matthew

Here is my favorite picture of Matthew - this one was taken while I was in the front seat and he was in the back. Matthew is eight months old in this photo. Look at those beautiful blue eyes!
